Early Edition (cover varies from 1908 issue, but appears to be pre-prohibition vintage). Original illustrated wrappers, 16 pages, 5 by 3 inches. Very scarce guide, no copies found on WorldCat. Includes five pages of cocktail recipes, such as Rum Highball, Rum Flip, Old Rum Cocktail, Fancy Rum Smash, Rum Crusta, Tom and Jerry, etc. A 1908 review of an early printing of this brochure states: "Messrs Felton & Son of Boston Mass., the distillers of Old Crystal Spring Rum, have issued a very neat little pamphlet about old rum and its uses. After reading this little pamphlet through, which has a word about the merits of rum in general and then tells of its medicinal uses and gives a number of recipes for medicinal culinary and beverage purposes, one feels that there is no finer beverage made or one so beneficial to use than good old rum. We don't know who prepared this dissertation on rum for Messrs Felton & Son but it is written in such a way as to make your mouth water, as the little boy would say, for a taste of some of the pleasant and refreshing rum drinks described. He is in fact so enthusiastic about this particular brand that Felton's Old Crystal Spring Rum is now being bottled in bond, the only rum in the world with this distinction. This is also told about in the little book on Old Rum and Its Uses". Very Good, tiny nick at mid front panel.
