1. Marie Bonifas [LESBIAN FICTION]. London: G. P. Putnam's Sons, (1930).
First English Edition. Very scarce novel of a young woman who "as she matured, the flow of her affections, dammed at their normal outlet, sought other channels of escape. Like the heroine of 'The Well of Loneliness,' her danger lay in her emotions". Found in Marion Zimmer Bradley's 'Checklist of Lesbian, Variant and Homosexual Fiction' with the following description: "Classic novel of feminine variance. Exclusively lesbian characters are rare in French literature (although bisexual women are relatively common), and this was one of the best known; it follows the heroine from childhood to old age." Near Fine in Very Good dustjacket but for mild stain to lower half of spine and a small dark stain in the same area. Item #23695
