Original 8 x 11 letter paper. The full size, matted in frame, is 12” x 10 ”. Contains original signature of T. S. Eliot. A letter from prolific poet T. S. Eliot to an A. K. Peters, Esquire, of Eliot House at Harvard University. Peters is likely a student at Harvard, as Eliot House has historically been used to house upperclassmen, and the content of the letter suggests he wrote to Eliot in hopes of obtaining copies of certain books on behalf of the Harvard “Signet Society.” At this time in Eliot’s life, he was employed as a director in the publishing firm Faber and Gwyer, later Faber and Faber, where he remained for the rest of his career. At Faber and Faber, he was responsible for publishing important English poets like W. H. Auden, Stephen Spender, and Ted Hughes. Eliot was also a Harvard graduate, which explains why Peters reached out to him in the first place. Very Good, presumed to be laid down on board. Item #35532
