'Copyright Edition' in three volumes, 631-633 in the “Collection of British Authors” series. Wilkie Collins’ famous eight part novel dealing with themes of illegitimacy, originally serialized in Charles Dickens’ magazine “All the Year Round.” Early or first European printing, published the year after the first edition. Three quarter brown leather over marbled boards with black leather spine labels, gilt stamping and four raised bands to each spine, blind stamping to front and rear cover leather, all edges marbled and marbled endpapers. Very Good, with expected wear to cover boards and rubbing to leather at corners and spine edges causing light exposure of boards at corners, text block clean with clean binding and hinges.
