Author's ever popular fairy play about children compared favorably to Peter Pan and which served as the basis for several film versions, two silent black and white adaptations include the 1918 version directed by Maurice Tourneur. In 1940 Walter Lang directed the Shirley Temple version and in its latest reincarnation, The Blue Bird, became a star studded 1976 color production directed by George Cukor and starring Elizabeth Taylor, Jane Fonda and Ava Gardner. Extremely scarce in original printed dustjacket. Near Fine in Very Good lightly soiled dustjacket, closed tear at top rear flap edge, partial splitting along rear spine edge.
