Ivy Comtpon-Burnette’s fiction dealt with large, dysfunctional families, perhaps influenced by her own large family of 12 siblings with several early deaths and 2 sisters dying in a suicide pact on Christmas Day. Her later novel, “Mother and Son,” won her the 1955 James Tait Black Memorial Prize. Very Good plus with spine faded, light spotting to rear cover, spotting to page ends.
