First Edition. Rare murder mystery novel is which a man who suffers from amnesia does not know if he is guilty of murder. He is "aided in his investigation by two girls. One, Prissy Lissiter, is the multimillionaire daughter of an Oil King. The other, Josephine Rodney, is a waif, a chorus-girl, whom he finds starving on a park bench. Jo is not a detective, but she has a 'hunch'". Basis for two black and white RKO films, the first a 1936 feature titled, Two in the Dark, directed by Benjamin Stoloff and starring Walter Abel and Margot Grahame. The second is the Film Noir, [The Dark Page, Kevin Johnson] 1945 production directed by Anthony Mann (his directing debut) and starring Tom Conway and Ann Rutherford. Near Fine, but for previous owner stamp at lower page edge, in Very Good plus dustjacket with modest edge wear.
