Something of an anomaly for this publication, with what appears to be publisher's hardcovers (not the wrappers as usual encountered) and the illustrations having been hand colored, perhaps by Burgess himself who as signed the front free endpaper with his monogram, "To Tim / with love from his / uncle Richard Redfoot / GB".
