"When Maya Day, a talented Indian girl educated in the West, returns home filled with a desire to purify the ancient Tantrik cult she finds herself baffled by the secret aims of Indian politicians and fanatics. There are strange rites at the shrine of the goddess Kali; a scene in the Garden of Dead Kings, when Maya Day unwittingly opens a secret door and surprises a Bolshevist spy; a stealthy meeting in the forest where the order is sent forth for revolt against alien rule; the mysterious kidnapping of Captain Hastings and Maya Day; and the final revelation of Maya's great sacrifice, from which she never returns". Very Good, some smudges to front endpapers, some mild discoloration to cloth, in Very Good dustjacket, few closed tears and small chips, small stain at lower front panel.
