Despite having four children together, Edythe longs for her art, and the Bohemian life. She subsequently leaves her family and unexpectedly falls in love with a young clergyman. Her death at the end of the book may serve as a social lesson. Very scarce in turn of the century printed dustjacket. Near Fine but for front endpaper removed, in Very Good dustjacket, fairly shallow chipping at spine ends and flap corners.
