First Theatre Edition, illustrated with still scenes from the play. Wilson's novel of a Hollywood actor served as the basis for two films: Make Me a Star in 1932 directed by William Beaudine and starring Joan Blondell and Stuart Erwin, and the 1947 Robert Alton film starring Red Skelton and Virginia O'Brien. (see: Anthony Slide, The Hollywood Novel). Very Good in Very Good dustjacket, shallow chipping at spine ends and flap corners, tiny chip at mid-front panel.
