Item #23936 A Pair of Silk Stockings. Cyril HARCOURT.

A Pair of Silk Stockings. New York: Dodd, Mead and Co., 1916.

First Edition. Illustrated with photographic stills from the theatrical production. "A pair of silk stockings, used to tie up a burglar's legs, bring an estranged wife and her husband together. How Sam Thornhill learns all about a rival; how a burglar is caught in his wife's room, is securely bound and then disappears; how an idyllic romance is shattered because a burglar cannot be found; and how the romance is restored, and two pair of lovers made happy at last, are episodes in a story that goes lightly from farcical situation to another". The theatrical version ran on Broadway at the Little Theatre for 223 performances and starred Barabra Allen, Caroline Bayley and Kenneth Douglas. Rare teens romance to be found in original illustrated dustjacket. Almost Near Fine, in nearly Very Good dustjacket, shallow loss at spine ends and flap corners, nickel sized chip at lower spine end, modest signs of wear.
