Mr. Cinderella

Mr. Cinderella. New York: Farrar and Rinehart, (1938).

First Edition. Alan Haesner dustjacket art. An uncommon Stout title, a departure from mystery fiction and a foray into romantic comedy. A youngish scientist, who has chanced upon a formula for the perfect foundation for lip stick and cold cream, becomes richer and richer. There are two women in his life, one the little secretary in his office, who risks legal complications to keep him out of trouble, and the other a glamorous female who is more interested in his riches than himself. Despite not being a Nero Wolfe title, a hard title to come by for the completist. Near Fine bright copy in Very Good dustjacket, a bit more than a quarter sized chip at lower front panel, some modest edge and surface wear, chipped at top spine end.
