Fourth Printing (originally published in 1933) Drama adapted by Barbara Burnham from the famous German play, Gestern Und Heute, of a sensitive girl sent to an all-girls boarding school who falls in love with one of her teachers. Basis for the German produced film, Madchen in Uniform, one of the earliest narrative films to explicitly portray homosexuality. A young Jessica Tandy is credited in the original cast list for the production at The Duchess Theatre in London, and is presumably pictured at front dustjacket panel which features a still from the production. Near Fine in Very Good dustjacket, shallow loss at top spine end.
