Original decorative dark green cloth, gilt lettering, gilt top page edge, frontis plate of Whitman with facsimile inscription. The last of the 19th Century editions of Whitman's seminal poetry collection, this copy exceptional for retaining the original publisher's printed dustjacket. Scarce. Near Fine, two short gift inscriptions at front endpaper (one from 1925, the other dated 1962), in Very Good plus white dustjacket that would presumably be prone to soiling, this example only very lightly so, with some shallow chipping along top edge, chipped at spine ends.
