Ninth Printing. Harold Cue dustjacket art. Sabatini's best known and greatest achievement in historical adventure fiction. Basis for several literary sequels, this original, French Revolution set swashbuckler, also served as the basis for the 1923, black and white silent, classic film directed by Rex Ingram and starring Romone Novarro, Lloyd Ingraham, and Alice Terry. This copy very similar to first printing published a year earlier, with same general jacket design but with different ads at rear panel and rear flap. Very Good, some tiny indentures at rear cover, tiny cloth tear at top spine end, in nearly Very Good dustjacket, chipped at spine ends, dime sized chip at top front panel, some short closed tears at edges.
