8.5 x 10 inch brown leather photo album. German circa 1960's. 72 black and white glossy photos ranging in size from 3.5 x 5.5 to 8x10 - most appear to be professionally staged and photographed. The subject of many of the photos is Irmgard Albrecht and her professional activities related to the 1960's German film and publishing industry. There are a series of photos from a party which include numerous photos of personalities from the German film industry such as: Grethe Weiser, Hildegard Knef, and Barbara Frey; as well as many shots of Axel Springer, the German journalist and the founder and owner of the Axel Springer SE publishing company, who appears to be a good friend of Albrecht's. Included, as well, are 4 color prints that seem to be Irmgard Albrecht early in her career doing a live theatrical performance. Many of the photos have handwritten notation under them (written in German) with the names of those in the pictures, although the handwriting is illegible in places. Dates of the photos are loosely established from newspapers that can be seen in photos. There are 2 clippings from local periodicals that focus on Albrecht's hobbies.
