Two Pre- World War Two German Photo Albums. 500+ black and white photos ranging in size. Each album contains scenic photos, and photos of every day life in both the German rural countryside and city. A unique glimpse into German culture and daily life before the Nazi era, includes family vacations and retreats, farming, weddings and even a child's funeral. The first (the Vader Family Album): oblong cloth covered approximately 9 x 7 inches, contains some photos from the late 30's but most of the photos are family portraits from late 1880's - 90's and through the 1920's. Includes photos of family members in Imperial German Army dress uniforms (this album has handwritten notes taped into the album, but the tape does not touch any of the photographs, although the loose paper covers many of the photos, but is easily removed. The second album is a different, unrelated, German family. This dark leather bound oblong quarto measures approximately 18 x 10 inches, and follows a particular family during the 1920's. This family album contain several loose photos.
