Drinks - Long and Short [Cocktails]. London: William Heinemann, Ltd, 1930.

New Impression (First Printing 1925). Preface by X. Marcel Boulestin. J. E. Laboureur dustjacket art and frontis. Collection of cocktails and other drinks including an early appearance in print of the cocktail referred to as The Dunhill (and served at the Savoy), presumed to have been invented at the Hatchett’s Bar in London and first published in the 1925 edition of this title. The drink itself is something between a Negroni and a Martini. Blogger Martin Doudoroff writes of this title: "The book is curious for featuring recipes that are all scaled for a dinner party of six, and historically significant as perhaps the first important cocktail book written by foodies rather than bartenders." Located in "Cocktail Books, Selected Titles from the Library of Congress Collections". Very scarce in dustjacket. Near Fine but for quarter sized stain at mid front cover, in Very Good dustjacket, modest darkening to panels, few tiny edge nicks and small stains.

Price: $900.00
