First Edition (dated 1888 but in reality published late 1887). The third of four seasons published posthumously from Thoreau’s journal and edited by H. G. O. Blake, who chose to publish Winter before Autumn (published in 1892). Original dark green cloth with gilt stamping to spine, gilt facsimile signature to front cover, gilt top edge, dark blue endpapers. Very Good, protected in mylar wrappers, minor rubbing to spine head and tail, light scuffing to front and rear covers, light cracking to binding at page 204 but attached, clean text block, clean hinges.
