An important cocktail book that went through many reprints. Introduction states: "The professional barman has many obligations to the public. Courtesy, cleanliness, restrictions on smoking, drinking, etc. these you all know about. One obligation, however, of equal importance, many of you tend to forget: that a drink should be the same all over the country. Clearly what is needed is some standard for drink-mixing, some way to prepare drinks in similar fashion from state to state and region to region."
