Kresch's Place, Cocktails 1939 - 1940 Recipes. Panama: Star and Herald Company, (1940).
First Edition. Original illustrated wrappers, 4 by 2 1/2 inches, 112 pages. Very scarce collection of cocktail recipes which served as the theme for a rare book podcast (Storytellers Campfire) in 2011. Kresch's Place became one of the most famous bars in Panama where sailors could ignore the impending conflict in Europe with cocktails named after American ships including USS Mallard, USS 46 Special, USS Thrush Special, etc. Also includes recipes named after V-P military aircraft which were not known about by the general public. The book was published by the Star and Herald which was owned at the time by 18th president of Panama, Federico Augusto Boyd. Recipes include alcohol imported from around the world. Very Good.
