Incredibly uncommon first novel by this Japanese-American Hollywood film star whose career spanned from the silver screen through the 1960's, appearing in over seventy films including Cecil B. DeMille's The Cheat (1915) and the Fu Manchu film Daughter of the Dragon (1931). Hayakawa's career culminated with an Oscar Nomination for his portrayal of Col. Saito in The Bridge on the River Kwai. The novel tells of the colorful adventures of two lovers from different parts of the world. "Love, adventure, mystery, a clash for power between the Orient and the Occident". Fantastic cover art by Imler of a young blonde woman sitting in an Eastern temple.
