Mister Fish Kelly is youngish, thin and ebony black, and naturally given to the lugubrious. Fish Kelly finds a living in carrying out Lawyer's schemes and is a vassal used none too kindly by the domineering gentleman. How Fish sought freedom through marriage with the splendid Miss Macedonia Clinton, only to find that a father-in-law can be as grimly exacting as any poor, peace loving soul can imagine. The climax of Fish's adventures comes when he turns the tables on both his persecutors. (Found in Black Stereotypes in Popular Series Fiction by Bernard A. Drew) Very uncommon.
