Extremely scarce serialized printing and true first appearance of Alger's young adult adventure novel published in The Argosy. Later published in book form in 1892 by Porter and Coates. This collection with #429 included which includes a short prospectus for Digging For Gold. A Very Good plus collection with only general minor soiling to most issues, edges crisp and wrappers generally clean, #442 with fore-edge bumped causing tiny chip to page edges, #436 small abrasion at top front wrap, #435 with inch closed tear to fore-edge of first 5 leaves and front wrap, spine creased.
