Item #10977 How To Write A Play, A Practical Handbook for Students. Eugene WALTER.

How To Write A Play, A Practical Handbook for Students. New York: Eugene Walter Corporation. (1925).

First Edition. Ten volumes, original brown printed wrappers. A lovely complete collection of Walter's chapbooks on writing for the theatre. Except for the last volume which contains the full text of Walter's play The Easiest Way, each volume contains one chapter, is side-stapled and between 16 and 40 pages long. Walter was, in his time, one of the more prolific and popular writers for the stage, his most well-known works being The Easiest Way, Paid in Full, The Trail of the Lonesome Pine, and The Wolf. Walter's publishing house no doubt wished to capitalize on the author's success with this 'how to' book, and publishing in separate sections no doubt ensured a greater profit. A Near Fine collection.
