Extremely scarce drug, fantasy, and African-American interest novel of a black man who pays for a potion to lighten his skin, falls in love with a "golden-haired" heiress and is endlessly extorted by the voodoo doctor who provides the drug. Very Good plus copy, ink number at lower page edge, inch sized remains of a bookplate at front free endpaper but no other signs of this being a lending copy, in a Good to Very Good dustjacket, few cm sized chip at top spine end, wear to flap edges, few inch closed tear at lower front panel.
