Basis for the 1932 black and white talking Universal Pictures film directed by James Whale, who had just previously directed Frankenstein, and starring Lew Ayres, Mae Clark and Una Merkel. The film was also Hattie McDaniel's first film appearance. A scarce title to be found in original first edition format. Near Fine in Very Good plus dustjacket, few short closed tears and nicks to spine ends and flap corners.
