Basis for the 1927 black and white silent 20th Century Fox film directed by Frank Borzage starring Janet Gaynor, Charles Farrell. The film garnered three Academy Awards including best actress, best director and best Screenplay. Fox produced a 1937 talking version directed by Henry King starring Simone Simon, James Stewart, and Jean Hersholt. This copy inscribed by John Golden in pencil at front free paper in large script.
