But on the edge of these acres and acres of sand she meets romance!" A contemporary newspaper advertisement for the novel pinned to the front free endpaper describes the book as a Kansas courtroom drama, in which a young woman is accused of being a thief. Not listed in Hubin but perhaps contains criminal elements. McCarter was a Topeka, Kansas resident for most of her life.
