With small bookplate of Senator John Holmes, an American politician and National Republican who served as a U.S. Representative from Massachusetts, and was one of the first two Senators from Maine, best known for his involvement with the Treaty of Ghent. Octavo, 3/4 leather with marbled boards, gilt lettering to spine, gilt spine bands, original endpapers. Very Good with moderate surface wear and soiling to boards, leather worn at spine ends and corners, pages with some foxing.
