Item #20003 The Path of Gold. (HAITI NOVEL). William Almon WOLFF.

The Path of Gold. (HAITI NOVEL). New York: Reynolds Publishing Co., 1920.

First Edition. C. B. Falls illustrations. An uncommon Haitian set adventure novel despite the misleading 'western genre' dustjacket art. The dustjacket copy reads: "Left penniless by his sometime millionaire father, Stephen Thayer enters the employ of his fathers' closest friend. There in his first job he fails miserably. He is given another chance in faraway Haiti". The author is perhaps better known for his novelizations of popular contemporary plays including The Trail of Mary Dugan and The Show-Off. This presumed to be his first book. Very Good, some spotting and wear to cloth, in Very Good dustjacket, shallow edge chipping, dime sized abrasion to top front panel, few short closed tears.
