Guardian Angels. New York: Macaulay Co., 1914.
First American Edition. Translation of a contemporary French novel of a married woman who is jealous of her husband's past lover. Prevost's somewhat rigid view of female education and the ill effects of Parisian life on women served as a partial catalyst for the impending feminist movement which Prevost attacked in other works. An extremely scarce title to be found with original illustrated dustjacket. Near Fine, contemporary gift inscription at front endpaper, in Very Good but edge chipped dustjacket, top spine end with quarter sized chip.
