Early Printing, first published in 1926. Theatrical play and "portrait of a selfish woman. Mrs. Craig is house-crazy. She worships her house as coldly as pagans do their idols". Winner of the 1926 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Basis for three films in 1928, 1936, and 1950 in which the leading ladies included Irene Rich, Rosalind Russell, and Joan Crawford. The 1936 version with Russell was the actress's first major success. An uncommon play and especially so in original illustrated dustjacket. Near Fine in Very Good plus dustjacket, minor chips at spine ends.
