Three act play written in verse about a kingdom besieged by evil forces and led by a sinister queen, eventually defeated by an angel-like heroine. The only play ever written by acclaimed American poet who, in his life, was given the titles of Hoosier Poet, National Poet, and Children's Poet, and was well known for his poem, “Little Orphant Allie” which inspired the “Little Orphan Annie” character. Near Fine in Very Good dustjacket, top spine end with shallow chip.
