Early English edition and English photoplay edition. Small octavo, color wrap-around dustjacket art of a woman being whipped by another woman. Novelized from the Austin Strong play on which was based the 1927 Frank Borzage-directed film featuring Janet Gaynor and Charles Farrell. Borzage, Gaynor, and screenwriter Benjamin Glazer won the first Oscars ever awarded. Not published with stills, only a plug for the film at jacket and introduction. Near Fine but for top fore-edge corner of title page inexplicably clipped in Very Good dustjacket.
