First Edition. Bound volume with issues between June 30, 1832 and June 15, 1833. Small quarto, contemporary 3/4 leather and marbled boards. Volume II of this short lived Universalist newspaper. Very scarce. This copy belonging to Rev. John Boyden, with his signature to front endpaper and many individual issues. John Boyden (May 14, 1809-September 28, 1869), was a Universalist minister, politician, social reformer, and a disciple of Hosea Balou and the longtime pastor of the First Universalist Church of Woonsocket, Rhode Island. He worked prominently there for public education, temperance, abolition, and new forms of medical treatment. Very Good volume, expected age toning to newpapers, front hinge cracked, leather spine with chips and wear.
